Failure is something that happens to everyone. Yet when it happens to us- especially in academic exams- it feels like the world has ended. This blog talks about failure and also the pressure of being the top student.
WHAT IS FAILURE?
First of all we need to clarify that everyone has different versions of failure some people think 80% is a fail and some people think that 20% is a fail- but the important thing is that you acknowledge your score. If you really can't decide then just think that if you did not beat your last score -then you have failed.
WHAT NOT TO DO;
COMPARE TO OTHER PEOPLE:
First of all you need to think that they are always going to be people better than you and people worse than you, so comparing grades is terrible. If you got the entire word to sit the exam there would be 100% scorers or 2% scorers so if someone in your class did better than you then there would be someone in the world who did better than them. And even if they did do better then that will not effect you.
SULK
Why? It is over and the more time you waste on sulking the less time you get improving.
WHAT TO DO
GRADE GOALS
You need to set grade goals- since you are not comparing to other people you need to compare with yourself - You are only racing against yourself. And if you do improve from your past self then you have become better, not you stay the same but some one else drops and therefore you over power them. Modesty is a key factor of this.
ACKNOWLEDGE HUMANITY
We are humans and if we never made mistakes then we would not be here because of it.
