Check out Study Sunshine's Top Tips to effectively revise:

  • This is Unjaded Jades 3 Step Method for revising-
  • UNDERSTAND-You must understand the topic and content first before any other forms of revision. This is vitally important as it sits as the foundation with revision being the extension. Some ways to understand are: Youtube videos ( educational of course)-Going over what you have done in lessons
  • LEARN-the information!Although it's not the most interesting part of studying it is important that you just do you so and here are some tips and ways you can do so. For example different types of active recall methods like :mind maps from memory , blurting or even just testing yourself or someone testing you. Also Quizlet is a very good website and resource which is free and allows you to make online revision cards that you can also print off but you can use to test yourself- just put effort into learning the content
  • APPLY-the knowledge that you have learnt and understood.Make sure you are able to apply the knowledge to Exam questions so do practice questions, testing on definitions and practice questions from the exam board.
  • The rest of the tips are formed by Study Sunshine but be sure to look at the sidebar on the right and check some Youtubers tips for Revision techniques
  • Try different types of techniques other than trying to read through notes and memorise them. For example: active recall-Active recall involves retrieving information from memory through, essentially, testing yourself at every stage of the revision process. The very act of retrieving information and data from our brains not only strengthens our ability to retain information but also improves connections in our brains between different concepts-YOU CAN READ MORE ABOUT ACTIVE RECALL ON ALI ABDALL'S WEBSITE!
  • Also around exam time you can start associating different objects in your room or study space to different pieces of information. For example if you associate your bed with the formula for SPEED then every time you look at your bed then you will automatically remember the SPEED formula
  • MINDMAPS- are such a good resource for revision. The following points showcase why:1. Because of the fact that you only have a page to fill you automatically find the key points in that topic and write them down so when you are revising it is a great resource to just memorise those points especially when there are lots of topics 2.You can chose the format and colour scheme and so many other concepts which sub-consciously makes you put more effort into it because you can chose everything on the sheet

     3. In your folder it is a good idea to , after making notes for that subject,        make a mind-maps with all the key points-you can use this for quick revision over the subject.

  • The next revision technique is to use QUIZLET-This website is the most helpful flashcard website in the world. All you have to do is sign up and you can have free access to already made online flashcards  or you can even make your own and print them out as either flashcards or an index. This website definitely contributes greatly to your revision-especiallly active recall
